Happy Birthday June Babies!

What a joy it is to be born in the month of June. Some of the world’s most intriguing gems represent June babies.

The cultured pearl--so pure and as unique as your fingerprint. The quintessential feminine gem, pearls come in so many shapes and sizes. While natural pearls may only be found in museums these days, cultured pearls offer us so much variety in beauty and price. The nacre on a cultured pearl is formed when an irritant is inserted into the mollusk and the growing begins. Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to work with the Pearl Princess herself, Paula DeLaGarza, who offered everything from exotic Tahitians to everyday classics. Whether you choose Akoya, South Sea, Tahitian or freshwater is simply a matter of taste and budget. Here’s a quick link to the GIA if you’d like to learn more: https://www.gia.edu/pearl-description

Did you know Alexandrite is also a birthstone for the month of June? But where would you find it now that there is virtually no mining for this most alluring gem. This pleochroic stone can change colors before you eyes when going from daylight to incandescent light. The first time you see this effect, it’s breathtaking. I first offered Alexandrite on television nearly 18 years ago now, but I remember it like it was yesterday. What a thrill to see a gem that only a handful of women (and men) have the opportunity to own.

And finally, the moonstone is also a June birthstone. The ethereal glow of a moonstone is awe-striking. As the light passes through it a mysterious allure draws you in to take a closer look. What a treat to see and even better to own.

Choose the June gem that speaks to you. Happy birthday June babies!
